Hiking Big Talbot Island
We recently took an excursion to journey through Big Talbot Island, a coastal state park in northeast Florida near the Georgia line.
It is located off of the Atlantic Ocean in a beautiful ecological area. The shores are so peaceful and covered with full size driftwood trees.
The trees resemble a boneyard and have been sun bleached and become uprooted off of the banks due to erosion.
There are miles of trails and routes through the woods just off the beach with plenty of places to picnic and explore.
There are driveable beaches within the area as well. Wildlife is abundant in the form of fish, shore birds, lizards, crabs, and other shellfish including conchs.
We really enjoyed the day trip and even saw good crabbing before the ferry ride. We'll be back!
It's a beautiful location!
