Chamonix Mont Blanc - Breath taking views of the French Alps

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hello my Steemit friends,

So I spent a week in the french alps the week after new years eve 2016. I usually dont take photos with myself in them, as Ive always thought people dont always want to see the person hoggin the camera with their face. Maybe I'm wrong? here are a few photos:

Amazing restaurant 2000 metres above sea level on the ski field. They serve amazing food, and great beer. I had the lasagna, and it was honestly the most delicious lasagna I've ever tasted. I highly recommend this place if you get a chance.

This part of the ski run was tough, because if you didnt get enough speed before coming into this section, you would literally run out of speed, and stop dead...which means you had to walk about 40 metres in the snow which sucks!

For anyone that loves train rides with spectacular views, I highly recommend catching a train from Chamonix station (pictured above) through the Swiss alps. It is breath taking and spectacular. the journey will take you up and down, and through huge snow covered mount peaks and crevasses. it was worth every penny.

What a way to end a day :)

Bonus photo: Living in Australia, and having never been to europe the first thing I noticed were these strange looking beers! You never see beer like this let alone 8% beer in Australia. I have to admit, after getting through all those beers, I had to lay down for a couple of hours! haha

I hope you enjoyed my post. Until next time friends. Ciao :)

Great. Thanks :D

Always ski with heaps of speed ;)

Haha!! I'm a newbie! I actually sprained my wrist on the second day of skiing coming of a ski lift. Even then, I would ski again!

Mixing different beer is not recommened :)

haha!! Well good judgement comes from experience. And experience comes from lots of bad decisions!!
