Tioman Island, Malaysia | 马来西亚刁曼岛 了解一下

Recently, Google Photos keeps reminding me of my scuba diving experience at the end of April last year.



It was in Tioman Island, in the South China Sea, lies off the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia. Tioman is famous for its diving spots where corals, sea fans, and shipwrecks can be found easily.

We, a group of friends, drove from Johor Bahru to Mersing port to take the ferry to Tioman Island. It was about 3 hours away to Mersing and another one hour to Tioman.

Scuba facilities are available at most villages. The regular dive sites are located in the north of the island while macro diving at the east side.



Our diving center is Scuba Ace. It offers a wide range of SSI and PADI Scuba diving courses, as well as freediving courses. The 4D3N Open Water Diver Course cost about 1640 MYR. Honestly speaking, the learning process was not so enjoyable and sometimes it was very tough. Because they provide the highest training standards which we benefited a lot as well.





A concrete path is running along the villages.


The best and cheapest way of hopping from one village to the other is to use the Tioman ferry service.

最近Google Photos一直帮我回忆去年这时候我在做什么，就看到了在刁曼岛潜水的照片，一年一转眼就过了，时间飞逝啊 ~

刁曼岛位于马来半岛东海岸，当地居民只有2000人左右，还有美丽的珊瑚礁，是热门的潜水地点之一。

我们一帮朋友，其中有大多数已经拿到初级潜水证、高级潜水证或者潜水救生员证，而我是少数中去考初级潜水证的。

我们当时的行程是从新加坡先到马来西亚新山集合，大概凌晨三点，然后几辆车再一起开去丰盛港Mersing, 车程大约两个半小时，到达港口再买船票去刁曼岛，大概一个半小时的船程。

我们的潜水中心是Scuba Ace, 它有各种各样的潜水课程，而且潜水教练非常负责细心，高标准严要求，学的过程并不太容易，中间一度有过想要放弃的念头，不过后来还是咬牙坚持下来了。虽然在海底很没有安全感，但当在水下看到悠哉的海龟、小丑鱼、沉船，还有一直陪在你身边的潜水buddy，觉得一切都值得。
