Visita Iglesia ( A Holy Week Tradition)
This year we decided to do the "Seven Churches Visitation" also known as Visita Iglesia here in the Philippines.
The Visita Iglesia is a Holy week tradition in which devotees visit seven different churches to pray. Supertitious beliefs that your wish will be granted upon completion of this tradition.
I would like to share to you steemians the beautiful churches we visited here at Rizal Philippines.
First is the "OUR LADY OF LIGHT PARISH" in Cainta City, Rizal.
Our Lady of Light Parish Church informally known as the Cainta Church, is one of the oldest Marian churches established in the province of Rizal, Philippines. It is located along Andres Bonifacio Avenue in Barangay San Andres.
Second is "ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH" in Taytay City, Rizal.
St. John the Baptist Church, also known as San Juan Bautista Church.
Third is "ST. CLEMENT PARISH" in Angono City, Rizal.
According to an article that I read, St. Clement church was officially established during the early 1930's. It still stands along the art street of Angono. Doña Aurora street.
Forth is "NUESTRA SEÑORA DELOS ANGELES PARISH" in Binangonan City, Rizal.
Nuestra Señiora Delos Angeles is a newly- renovated Parish, and was established around 2013.
Fifth is "STO. ROSARIO PARISH" in Cardona City, Rizal.
This was a small church along the main road.
Sixth is "ST. JEROME PARISH" in Morong City, Rizal.
St. Jerome Parish Church (also known as Morong Church) is a Roman Catholic church located in Morong, Rizal, Philippines. It was built under forced labor during the Spanish colonization in the country, where men, women, and even children had to dig stones from a hill called Kay Ngaya; lime from the stones of the mountain Kay Maputi; and sand and gravel from Morong River.
