A day off before one month solo bicycle trip in Scandinavia BLOG #2 (text/photos/video)

Good morning!

Fresh strawberries, milk and sweet sugar! Don’t be pity for the strawberries and squash them into pieces it’s the most important thing.

A day off in the beginning of the journey? Yep. Everything goes according to the plan. Well, just one thing - probably I didn’t expect of drying my shoes on the very second day…

No, you haven’t found yourself at the magnet sellers’ house. People living here, enjoy travelling and have a mountain of similar friends.

I’m dreaming about that tremendous world which I haven’t discovered and explored yet. In the musical center the restless Frank invites to discover South America, and I am looking at the restless dogs and can’t stay calm on the spot.

I am not going to see Latvia, looking at the telescope - I will pedal there tomorrow. I name the photo: “The other side of the birch”.

We take a ride around Panevezys surroundings on a borrowed Neringa’s dad’s off-road Toyota. Spurga is the main participant of the trip.

Kasparas tells about Karsakiskis Caucasian pastries – a unique shop in the district, where almost a decade or maybe even longer, a real and exceptional “Panevezys like” junk food is being produced and sold in a ramshackle wayside hut.

Sadly, in the Green Wood’s biosphere ground we find no place to swamp our Toyota, so the joyful picnic finds its room straight on the roof of the jeep.

We are wandering across the surroundings of Panevezys. The boyish perception of the world doesn’t let me to cross the monkeys’ bridge calmly. Believe me, it’s just impossible. As to stop admiring the NATO jets, carving the sky.

Kasparas casts a fishing rod and we drive to the shopping center to buy the real fish (anyway, he is not going to catch a fish).

I’m preparing the grill and playing with Spurga.

Slow evening chill on the grass waiting for dinner to be ready.

2.11.jpg

Is it only me who can’t wait for dinner?

2.12.png

Whoopee!

2.13.jpg

An amazing dinner - that’s the right way to finish my day off. A long road and a bunch of kilometers are expected for tomorrow.

2.14.jpg

Tomorrow I’m leaving my friends and my country.

A day off – traditional Panevezys junk food – Toyota Landcruiser off road – Monkeys Bridge – fishing rods – fish from supermarket – grill time.

Will I have enough power to pedal my bike 3000km?
Will my bike remain strong without any break downs?
How friendly are the Northern country roads for cyclists?
How will I search the places for the night stay and where I will put the tent?

I’d like to pay the attention of those, whose eyes don’t slip through these hashtags: bike tour, solo holidays, traveling alone, places to travel, Europe cycling, travel diaries, travel writing, solo travel ideas, adventure travel blog, best travel blogs, Europe travel blog...

P.S. If you want to travel together – follow.
If you want to support me – resteem.
Thanks & see you on the road!
