AMAZIN SEOUL
Me and my brothers lived in the heart of Seoul, a trendy aria called Hongdae.
We fell in love with this part of Seoul and decided to stay for 4 months.
Steetfood and restaurants
If you ever been to Korea you probably know about there exiting food culture.
With fresh elegant cooking to perfection. You don't have to eat at five star restaurants to enjoy a good meal. just locate your favourite street vendor, pick a buffet of strange looking food on sticks :D
Food is a big cultural thing in Seoul, before going out drinking friends meet up at the trendy Korean BBQ places.
PROS
- Steetfood is cheap.
- A good way to meet new friends is to eat with the locals.
- Trying out streetfood is a great way to figure out what tickle your tastebuds.
- when ordering food, you always get tasty side dishes like kimchi.
- Seoul got a huge cafe culture with a cafe that appeal to most. Some of the weird ones are the cat and dog cafes where you can enjoy a cup of java with a furry friend.
Cons
- BBQ comes with a surprising price tag.
- On the BBQ restaurants you have to bbq the meat yourself. (Like going to a pizzeria where you have to bake your own pie)
- The heat from all the table grills make the restaurants very hot during the already hot summer months.
NIGHTLIFE
At night Seoul is transformed in to one big party 7 days a week.
A perfect night out could start on the streets where many bands and performers are doing there thing, in hope to become the next big k pop stars.
exiting and out of the box bars and clubs around every corner. Seoul is just one grate city to find amazing nightlife.
The vibe is young an trendy with good looking people everywhere.
PROS
+There is a park in Hongdae simply called Hongdae playground, a perfect place to get to know new friends both westerners as well as Koreans. Live music, live boxing, drum circles, fireblowers, dancers meet up here at night to show their talent.
+If you are in the mood of hocking up! Koreans are famous for their outstanding beauty.
If your not born beautiful in Korea, plastic surgery is huge 1/3 Koreans have went under the knife.
+You don't need to be drunk to have a good time
CONS
-If you feel uncomfortable with Hip hop or K-pop and like rock music like we do, it can be hard to find as hip hop is huge over there.
-There is so many bars and clubs to fill up, that most of them are half empty at halfway trough the night.
-Some places don't want foreigners in their bars and got signs like this hanging outside.
SHOPPING & ENTERTAINMENT
Me vintage shopping!!
Like most of us i'm a shopping freak! Always out to find the coolest fashion or the latest gadget.
I especially enjoy flee markets/secondhand shops to find those hidden pearls....One mans trash is another mans treasure!
Shopping in in Korea is like jumping in to a time machine, fashion here can make any westerner look grey and dull. Many cupels dress up in similar outfits to show their affection and how steady they are....sugary sweet.
I normally don't like museums but we found this really cool museum full of nostalgic toys from 1970- 80 and 90s wow!! looking at those toys brought back many happy memories! Most of the toys are for sale, i wish i had more cash with me that day :D
PROS
+Fun alternative fashion
+inexpensive to get a new look... Yesterdays trend is on sale today!!
+Huge shopping centers above ground but also below ground in the subway station, great for rainy or hot days.
- Vintage is pretty expensive compared to LA or Europe, but i guess the stuff is more selected quality shit.
-Seoul have allot of cinemas but only a few of them show english speaking movies :')
Window shopping for beautiful girls in Hongdae!!
WOW!!! IM IN LOVE.
If you ever been to Seoul let me know your favourite thing about it.
