PARTYING AT OMNIA NIGHTCLUB IN LAS VEGAS!! CAN WE ALL AGREE ITS JUST A LITTLE OVERRATED? :(

While Omnia is one of the most popular nightclubs in Las Vegas a huge part of me thinks it’s just plain overrated and definitely overpriced. It’s located in Caesars Palace, and while it’s no longer a “new venue” you wouldn’t believe the line and the crowd of people outside of this place pretty much every night of the week. I have to admit I’m not a huge nightclub fan myself but this place has got to be one of my least favorites if I was forced to choose. If you’re a Vegas local you probably know someone that can get you inside and bypass the massive lines, but who in their right mind wants to fight their way around the sweaty obnoxious crowd that waits inside? If you’re a tourist you’re pretty much screwed. If you’ve managed to get on a promoters guest list you’ll be forced to show up painfully early and you’re still gonna wait in a crazy long line. Unless you can get one of the employees’ attention and you’re willing to bribe them with a tip. Anything less than a $100 bill isn’t gonna cut it so don’t bother embarrassing yourself. Don’t get me wrong, every club in Vegas pretty much operates like this, but I’ve always found the staff at Omnia to be exceptionally rude and greedy.

A girl friend of mine had a table there one night to celebrate her birthday and I showed up a couple min late and approached a host explaining to him I was expected at her table. Normally this would be no problem at any club in the city. If you’re invited to, or have a table booked you can get into that club with no problem. Bottle service is ridiculously expensive and the least thing a place can do is treat you with a sliver of respect when you attempt to walk in. Not at Omnia. I’m not sure if the guy I dealt with was looking for a tip from me, or just on some sort of a power trip? He actually told me “if I didn’t lose the attitude I wasn’t f*ckin getting inside.” What kind of establishment is cool with their employees treating patrons like this? The guy ended up making me stand around and wait for approx. 10 minutes as a kind of “punishment” before he let me in. The craziest part is I was nothing but polite to this man! Once I got inside of the place I asked a member of security staff if they could help me find the table I was headed to, and all I could get was a “finger point” in the general direction. Every other staff member at every other club I’ve been to in this city is more than happy to personally walk you to the place you’re searching for. Do you have to qualify as an asshole to be hired by this company? This place has several different confusing areas inside of the club all with different music, or featured DJs. The “main club” the “terrace” and the “heart of the club?” There’s no way in hell I’m trying to venture into the” heart” of that place. Just more sweaty drunk partiers grabbing at me and spilling drinks on me as I’m squeezing through the crowd confused as to where I’m going? No thanks.

The last time I was in this place I went with a friend who wanted to see Calvin Harris, and it was a terrible experience. They weren’t even allowing people into whatever area Calvin was performing because they were at max capacity. I understand they have to keep people safe, and there are fire codes and stuff but come on. We ended up in a totally different area listening to music my friend couldn’t stand while paying for expensive drinks, after he had already spent a ton to get in on general admission and bribes. Don’t let people in under the pretense they’re gonna get to see Calvin Harris if there’s no room for them to see Calvin Harris. It doesn’t seem right. The place does have a lot of top acts as far as DJs go, and the club is nice for the most part don’t get me wrong, but it’s nothing spectacular. I’ve heard they spent a ridiculous amount of money on the massive chandelier strobe light contraption thing they rave about. It’s kind of cool, but come on. A rickety slow moving piece of metal shit hanging from the ceiling is not exciting enough for anyone to have deal with the rest of the lousy place.

Clubs open and close in this city so quickly they often don’t even become part of anyone’s long term memory. No business succeeds when they offer bad customer service, and do nothing to attempt to change it. I’m a firm believer that each customer’s personal experience counts. It’s all part of the bigger picture that defines the reputation and identity of any establishment. That being said I can’t say that I’m a fan of this nightclub. Sorry Omnia, it’s nothing personal.
