North Beach Inn on Orcas Island Photos

in #travel7 years ago

Here’s a few more photos of where we stayed at the North Beach Inn on Orcas Island in the Puget Sound. We stayed in room above the office in this building shown below:

Our room had WiFi wireless Internet support, which was something it is tough for us to live without at this point. As cabins go, it was very nice with all kind of kitchen stuff that we used to cook up some nice meals with the food we brought.

I was surprised to see what looked like an old style rotary phone hanging outside the office. Sure enough it was a working phone both with free local calls. Kind of slice out of history if you ask me.

It seemed like it could use an official looking, “PHONE” sign on top and some sliding doors for privacy so that Clark Kent could change into Superman inside it - if the occasion came up.

The bedroom had some wrap around windows kind of like an old house we used to live in. Dog-oh, (not his real name so don’t bother trying to hack my bank account with my pet name, lol) just loved looking out the windows. I guess it was a new experience for him, the windows in our house are too high for him to look through.

See why not to give away details about yourself for an interesting take on security issues like giving away your pets name.

If found this odd looking rusted out machine on the beach. I couldn't figure out what it was used for at first. The first thing to came to mind was some primitive interrogation device left over from the turn of the century. It is strange what your mind comes up with sometimes, lol.

Then I saw the boats and figured it was used for hauling the boats up out of the water.

Here’s a better view of the daffodils with the boats and cabin where we stayed in the background:

The cabin experience was really fun and I got to make a real fire and split some firewood. Luckily I didn’t end up doing any lasting physical or emotional harm to myself getting the fire going, LOL.

Thanks for reading! I always value your support and comments. The pictures were taken by me with my Galaxy S9+.

I am very curious about this machine. as it is very ancient !? what is this machine? do not you ask the old man. I think this machine used to be used to grind agricultural produce.

I actually don't know that much about this, I thought it made an interesting picture. It may have been a hand powered winch used to skid logs back in the old days. What it is used for now, I'm not sure. It could be just an interesting item that someone collected. I doubt it is a grinder, I didn't see any grinding blades inside it.

Surely you are natural if you do not know about the objects that have been created in the house, because you are there far new visit him, I mean you are not a permanent resident on the island. so where do you really understand what it is that already exists. Best regards @lightsplasher.

yes friends, it's natural you if you do not know about the machines that are there, because you are there just now mengujungi him, I mean you are not a permanent resident on the island. so where do you really understand about it. good night my dear friend: @lightsplasher.

it looks very unit it may be a thing that ancient times then it was also in the store for memories @lightsplasher

the thing that I think it's a relic of the past and now it is in store as my memories very menyjkai his friend that I love @lightsplasher

I really really like this nature atmosphere and have a house in a location like this, of course.... this is very comfortable and peaceful, thanks for sharing the beautiful nature atmosphere. @lightsplasher

I love the moss on the roof, it really completes the cabin look and feel.

That was an interesting article. Since joining here, I have taken to making passwords with plenty of #$%&* plus numbers and letters.

That looks like an old come along winch. Wonder if they used cable or chain.

Cool looking spot!

Moss on the roof really looks cool but it does cause some issues with leaking. I need to get up on my roof and remove some of it that is growing on the north side. I've been thinking it would be great to replace the shingles with some nice solar power generating tiles but I'm not sure what that might cost.

Yes, I guess passwords are not as much of an issue as the secret questions the bank can use to let someone reset your password and lock you out of your account. Social media is great for getting people to start conversation about their first car and pets, etc.

I had to look up what a come along winch was and see some video on the use of it just for fun.

Hello friend me that my Unfortunately, the night I, want me show the results of my work today same friend my #lightsplasher a Photo grafy beetle yellow, easy hopefully friend me like his

Where does superman change these days? LOL. Mind you, everyone is looking down at their phones, so he can probably do it ... drum roll ... on the fly .... The daffodils were beautiful and you couldn't beat that view. Gorgeous:)

Increasingly sophisticated with the most extraordinary discoveries, the increasingly sophisticated development of the age makes us forget the goods that were once very meritorious. Like the phone of that era .. now very rarely we find and even no more.

You have to be very careful with personal things, because there are hackers everywhere.

Orcas Island looks very beautiful it looks like my dear @lightsplasher.
