Travel Blog - European Cruise Day at Sea
For those who just started following along, I recently re-discovered my old travel blog from my first trip to Europe in the summer of 2014. I wanted to share these entries with you, because it is amazing to look back and reminisce on that trip. [Side note - this was all before I was vegan, so if there is any confusion about that food I was eating, that's why.] Here was my ninth blog post from that trip.
August 7, 2014;
"Today was a much quieter day than the other days. We woke up around 10:00, ate breakfast, and stayed out at the pool and hot tub all day. My mom and I went to trivia at 10:30, but we didn’t play, we just watched. I played in a Ping pong tournament, but it was really windy and the ball kept flying everywhere, and I lost in the first round. At 2:00, Rachel and I went to a line dancing class. We learned 4 different dances, and our instructor was Fernando, who is one of our favorite crew members because he dances in the club every night and he is very flamboyant.
After dancing, we ate lunch with Fran and our friend Adrian, who is from Madrid. They had a soccer tournament at 5:00, so we went and cheered them on. They made it to the final round, but they couldn’t finish the tournament because they ran out of time.
Then we went to a salsa dance class. Rodrigo, our favorite crew member, was the instructor. Rachel was his partner and I just sat and watched. He’s hilarious, and a great dancer. It was a lot of fun to watch. After that, we went back to our room and got ready for dinner. Our parents ate with another family tonight, so Rachel and I ate with Fran and Adrian.
After that, Rachel and I went straight to the theater for the big show that they were having. It was sort of like cirque del soleil, combined with aerial and magic. It was probably the best show that we’ve seen on the cruise.
When the show was over, we went to the lounge for the 50’s and 60’s sock hop dance party. We stayed there with our friends for the rest of the night. Tomorrow we’re going to Split, Croatia, which everyone raves about. I’m very excited to see what it’s like."
