FMA: Holland
Last weekend I went on a short getaway to the Netherlands! Just wanted to share some expressions of my trip.
Since I'm living in Germany it's quite easy to just hop into the car and take a roadtrip to our neighbour country.
It took us approximately 5 hours to get to our first stop in Lisse (Holland). We stayed the night in a small family run Hotel and were quite impressed by the comfort and the price (70€/night for a double bedroom isn't too bad since we just booked spontaniously a few hours upon arrival).
On that day we just strolled around the neighbourhood and went to get some snacks and dinner.
I always find it very interesting to see what the grocery stores in other countrys have to offer!
The next morning we woke up quite early to visit the beach. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating too much and we actually got into a storm.
After warming up with a hot cup of coffee we drove to Amsterdam and let me tell you: parking fees a tremendous in the city! I highly recommend to check some car parks out online prior your visit or else you might end up paying 50€ or more for a couple of hours.
But finally the sun decided to show and we had a lovely walk trough the city! You might easily get lost in one of those cute small side streets but there are also a lot of shopping options connecting to the main road.
Since we weren't in a shopping mood really we decided to visit the moco museum which displayed exhibitions of Banksy and Salvador Dalì. I found it very interesting and definetly worth a visit!
Actually there are quite a few museums next to the moco museum (Museumsplejn) like the Van Gogh museum.
On our way back to the car we stopped by the flower market and found some pretty bouqets to take home with us. They actually were pretty cheap compared to German prices.
So when we decided to go back to Germany our car GPS couldn't figure out the proper way to the highway (guess we should've updated it before since it couldn't recognize some of the new streets) and led us to a really beautiful place we would've never come across on our own.
It's a small village (Naarden) next to a beautiful lake (Gooimeer). We had a chance to watch the sunset before finally going home.
I guess the unexpected things in life might turn out as some of the best!

Hey neighbor,
Seems like you had a great time in the Netherlands! I am glad to read that.
Next week I am going to Berlin. Maybe you got some recommendations? If so, I would love to hear them.
Cheers,
Jessie
