Exploring the German WW2 bunkers on the Danish coast line!

My mate Olli and I decided to spend New Years Eve in Denmark. A group of friends of ours rented out a holiday home in the area of “Klegod”, which was big enough to host at least 8 people. They were going to stay there for a whole week and invited us to come over for a couple of days.

It took us about 4 hours to get there from Hamburg

When we arrived people were already playing beer pong ;-)

I just recently discovered this drink and got to say that I really like it:

Jameson
Ginger Ale
Lime
Ice cubes
I like a ratio of 2:1 or 3:1

At midnight we were standing at beach, looking at the fireworks and blasting “Sing Hallelujah!” out of a big portable Bluetooth speaker :-)

The next day we went out to the beach again to explore the bunkers. The Nazis build thousands of bunkers around the Danish coast line during WW2. Some of them have been removed others have been covered up in sand. But some of them are still intact and you are able to explore them at your own risk.

Exploring some of the bunkers from the inside was fascinating. Some of them were really tight, because a lot of sand got in. But all of them were really dark. I wasn´t able to take proper pictures because the flashlight of my phone couldn´t handle the total darkness at all.
It was very creepy at times but even more fascinating to discover history and imagine what was going on there back in the day.

On our way back home we made a stop at White Giants of Esbjerg
