#Amazingbulgaria : Plovdiv- Day 3 and last day

Last day (Already?)

IMG_20170628_172228780_HDR.jpg

Today we slept in and woke at lunch time ( 2pm is still lunch time, isn't it ?)
We tried the Toasty : where you can customize your sandwich. Like Subway? No dears, because you can also make your own fajitas, pizzas and salads (and it's waaay cheaper).

Then, we went visiting the Ethnological Museum located in an astonished mansion in the old town.

Here, we learned the ancestral agricultural or gold-smithing techniques, traditional garbs or how houses used to be decorated. It's incredible how you ignore the history of a country so closed to yours. For instance, Bulgaria used to produce tobacco and rice (me who thought the last one was only cultivated in Asia), so ignorant I am !
Then we strolled on the beautiful gardens in front of the mansion where craftsmen were selling (mostly) handmade souvenirs.

Yummy time

As I said in my previous articles, here it's hot, very hot ! We desperately needed a refreshment so we tried the homemade glacier Dolce Fellini we heared a lot about. We were delighted by the old fashioned room while we were tasting their excellent ice creams and sorbets. We aslo noticed that the shop offers a large range of pastries even Helthy Treats biscuits.
In front is the Hemingway , a very well rated restaurant serving international meals with the intention of using only local and fresh products from an ethical production : Banco ! We found our restaurant for tonight. Moreover, we are pleased by the national and international wine menu (and a waiter with very good advices).
It will be breast of duck and foie gras duo with its saffron risotto for me and roasted cod with grilled vegetables for Yann. With all of it we will drink a Sauvignon Blanc from the Varna region (we dare not drinking a french wine).
To conclude : savoury and well elaborated meals, a well advised wine and a very friendly staff.
A very good address !

Let's the party started

We are going in Kapana one last time to discover nightlife in the arty spot. But as good french people we spent two hours eating, talking about changing the world while we were savouring our wine. So, unfortunately, every bars are about to close. But this unfortunate led us to the No Sense club an ideal bar to chill : fun staff, leather sofas, playlist from rock to oldschool rap ; I also have the opportunity to have a cocktail created for me (so lucky to be a girl in a bar lol).

Some people were singing karaoke so I took my courage in both hands and went on stage. It's absolutely not the alcohol that gave me the courage to sing Mercy by Duffy(well maybe a little bit).
We ended our evening by walking into the main square (because we didn't finish talking about changing the world) while the sunrise is saying us that our journey in Plovidiv comes to an end and that it's time for us to discover the amazing bulgarian lands .

To conclude

Let me make a recap about our journey in Plovdiv, our tips, what we regret doing or not doing (in case you are too lazy to read my previous articles*).

In general, Plovidiv is a very dynamic city with very welcoming people. I recommend undoubtedly !

What we didn't have enough time to do :

Our favorites :

  • The Hemingway
  • The idea of rehabilitate urban legends by erecting statues (sorry, I don't remember the name of the artist) such as Milu or Saso,
  • The karaoke,
  • Our host Konstantin.

Now it's time four us to go out of the city and take the road to the see but we have some stops to make before.
In our next stop we are going to make a strange visit. Encounter of the third kind ? The answer in my next article !
