A trip to Tenerife, Spain ( Day 1)
I don't like flying. I really don't. If I have the option, I'd rather take the ferry or drive somewhere, so you can imagine my face when I was told, that I will be flying to Tenerife, which is 5000-6000 kilometers away from home, and I would need to spend more then 5 hours up in the air.
Regardless, I mustered up courage and accepted this offer, after all, how often do you get to enjoy a vacation on such an island?
The flight was incredibly smooth. It was not my first time flying, and I know how safe planes are, but I still get super anxious, but we took off and landed so smoothly, you could barely even notice it. For the plane enthusiasts, it was an Airbus 320-214.
We landed in Tenerife. Got our bags and got on the bus to our hotel. It was becoming late, after all, the flight was almost 6 hours. But we got to our hotel in the nice city of Los Cristianos. I might as well start to refer it as a ''party town'' because it always seemed there was a party somewhere. In the daytime, and especially at night, loud music coming from somewhere. Which was weird, because it seemed like 80% of the population of Los Cristianos are old(and I mean old) British expats. I'm fairly certain I heard more English than Spanish while there, so it was an interesting experience.
We got to our hotel, ''Christian Sur'' it was called if you could classify it as a hotel. It had apartments rather than hotel rooms, that you could even buy. Had 4 pools and lots of sunlight in the rooms. And all of them had balconies. Since we were 4, we had to get the bigger apartment. Rather than it just being bigger, it had 2 floors. Imagine the look on my face when I saw in what we will be living the next week.
We stayed at the reception. Gathered information, breakfast, dinner, where to eat and so on. And the answer to it was ''Anywhere you want, it all is good''. A bold statement, that really did end up true. Anywhere you went, you would get served good food, and as it is an island in the Atlantic ocean, fresh fish was a must in every restaurant. But as it was the first day, we didn't go anywhere. We stopped by the local small shop, bought some food, beer, sweets, just enough for a good evening the room, as we were all exhausted from working beforehand.
And thus our first day ended. With relaxation on 1 of our 2 balconies, some wine, or beer, whichever people preferred and waiting anxiously for day 2.
