Machu Picchu, Peru - Beautiful Place To Visit
Machu Picchu, Peru. the most visited place in Peru where many tourists, students and wanderlusters go to explore and learn the ancient ruins. The word, 'machu picchu' means "old mountain" and is a pre-Columbian Inca site that was built around 1400 C.E, according to Beautiful Places To Visit. Each year, half a million visitors see the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983.
There is a nearby town called Cusco where all accommodations can be found. There is a lot to learn and discover about Peru and I encourage you to learn more about this ancient country in South America to find out more. One of these amazing days, I'll visit Machu Picchu and share my experiences. For now, here are my top faorite beautiful pictures of Machu Picchu, Peru I pulled up from the internet.

Nice pictures and amazing place. I must to visit it some day. Upvoted ;-)
thanks! :)
Yes I agree @milianybonet. I visited Machu Picchu this year when I was visiting Lima and it is quite a trip to get there. Cusco is 12000ft up in the Andes and getting to Machu Picchu from Cusco means a 4am rise to catch the bus to the train station. Eventual return to Cusco at 8pm.
Machu Picchu means "Big Mountain".
What is interesting to know is that the mountain in front is called Huena Picchu (meaning "small mountain").
The actual Machu Picchu is behind you when you take the picture.
I hope you get the chance to go. Not to be missed.
Thanks for sharing @tomcarpenter all the info! I sure learned new things here :) Wow, sounds like quite an adventure. Will keep this in mind when I got to Peru.
