I went to Chiang Mai, April 2015 and loved it. My Thai friends took me to Bhuping Palace which is a Royal Residence in the mountains, with beautiful gardens arranged by Queen Sirikrit. Have an iced coffee there, they grow & process their own coffee, it is to die for. They also took me to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, an incredible temple complex. If you get this post in time, when in the Bangkok area go to Kanchanaburi & walk over 'the' bridge over the river Kwai.
I'll definitely visit the bridge and Erawan Waterfalls again real soon. I'm off to the Trang Islands for some spearfishing :) If the weather permits I mean. Hope you have an outstanding weekend.
