650km Bicycle Tour Vienna -> Berlin, Photos and Feedback

Photos from my first Trip and some feedback. 650km Vienna -> Berlin

It was a great trip, very hot but so much feeling of freedom and boundlessness. Although i packed very light there are some things i should and should not do next time.

Things i didn't really need:

• sunglasses
• rain gear (it rained every evening, but i rather not ride but sit under my tarp)
• cellphone (i used a paper map and i worked better than the apps i have)
• cotton sweater ( a wind breaker is better and dries faster)
• 2 days of emergency food (there was a supermarket in every little village i came trough - even open on Sundays).

Things i should bring next time:

• clothing peg (great to resize your mosquito net and hang things)
• salt (makes simple food taste so much better)
• isotonic powder to mix with the water
• basic local phrases (i was really sad that i didn't bother learning the most basic words)
• mark daily stops on map to have a easy daily target
• mark highest point on rout (ease of mind)
• cut foot nails before trip and bring tweezers
• little mirror
• a watch (to know when and how long to make siesta)
• plan a more scenic and diverse route (most was roads, fields and forests in the distance - meditative, but not exactly something to remember. it's all a green blur to me now).
• a convenient day pack (to put my camera, money and some food into, so i don't have to go through my bags every time i need one of those.)
