Climate
Ba Ria – Vung Tau is located in the temperate climate zone impacted by the sea and classified into two clear seasons: The rainy season lasts from May to October and the dry season lasts from November to April of next year with the average annual temperature of from 25 – 27oC. The province has rarely storms and it is frequently sunny with average humidity of more than 80%. Ba Ria – Vung Tau has not Winter so the tourism activities can be exploited all year round.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province is a large tourist center. It has over 100km seashore with beautiful swimming beaches, as well as many lakes and thermal springs. The offshore bench has two kinds of importance resources: petrol and seafood.

Province has about 150km seashore with beautiful beaches, flat sand, clear and clean water all year around such as: Truoc Beach, Sau Beach, Dau Beach, Dua Beach (Vung Tau), Long Hai Beach (Long Dat), Ho Coc Beach, Ho Tram Beach (Xuyen Moc), and a range of Con Dao Beach. Binh Chau – Phuoc Buu primeval forests, which are 11,293ha area with Binh Chau Hot Spring, and Con Dao Island & National Park.

Con Dao Island is far away from Vung Tau with local population of around 5,000. Con Dao Island used to host a convict prison during the French colonial era, and later, during the American War. Nowadays, Con Dao Island owes its reputation to Con Dao National Park, comprised of precious and rare marine products, turtles, etc. The imposing mountains and forests of Con Dao are unforgettable, and so are its unspoiled and pristine beaches.

Other popular places are Communal House of Dao Ong Tran, Ben Da Church, Bach Dinh vestige, Long Phuoc Tunnels, Minh Dam Revolutionary Area... and over one hundred Buddhist pagodas and temples such as Niet Ban Monastery, Thang Tam Communal House, Linh Son Pagoda, Dinh Co Temple.

Popular festivals also characterize this animated and lively sea area. Thang Tam Festival (17th – 20th days of the 2nd lunar month) marks the end of one fishing season and the beginning of the next. This festival is a typical activity of fishermen, and it is deeply influenced by folk culture.
