Furisode are the most formal style of kimono worn by young unmarried women in Japan.
The furisode is made of very fine, brightly colored silk, and is commonly rented or bought by parents for their daughters to wear when celebrating Coming of Age Day the year they turn 20.
Hey Nate, I will be travelling in Japan during Golden week and until one and half weeks after. We will start off in Tokyo and end in Osaka. Do you have tips for places to stay in between and in Osaka? I believe that that is your area of expertise :)
