Hello there everybody! 👋

Last January 5 is my friend's birthday. Her name is Michelle, and I call her Ate Mich. She is older than me, that makes her more of a sister to me. This is our photo taken two months ago.

Our friendship started unexpectedly. I was in my later years of college and already have had a circle of friends with me - those whom I'd been classmates with from two semesters ago. When we knew that Ate Mich was a new student, a transferee, we welcomed her in our group and then we became classmates throughout my major classes until graduation.

Ate Mich is one of those people who got my back.

Yes, I have mentioned that we have a circle of friends. But at the end of the day, not all of them will stick to you. Some of them will just be there for the "good stuff". But not ate Mich. She has been patient and understanding with me and I love her for that.

So, last Friday was her birthday and it was extra special because her fiance is with her. By the way, her fiance is from Georgia, USA. And we celebrated her birthday lunch at her home in the province - at Magsaysay, Davao del Sur. Below is a screenshot of my journey last Friday. As you can see, on the right side is where we came from, Talomo, Davao City is where my house is located. Traveling to further south-west using a van was our destination.

Their home is in a province, and their house is surrounded with rice fields.

It is flattering to know that Ate Mich considers me as one of her visitors. When we got there, both of her parents' family were waiting. Almost all of her cousins were complete and her aunt and uncles were there too!

She'll be married soon and all I wish for her is true happiness and great joy in her soon married life. She is a wonderful person and I am very grateful to have her as a friend.

Ate Mich, I love you and I always treasure you as a friend. Happy birthday and cheers to your engagement. 🥂
