The Potala Palace is located on the Red Hill in Lhasa, Tibet. Potala for the Sanskrit transliteration, meaning out of the boat of the bitter sea, meaning the Holy Land Putuoshan. The Potala Palace is 117 meters high, 370 meters long from east to west and 370 meters wide from north to south. It is the largest and most complete collection of ancient castles, pagoda temples and Tibetan Buddhist temples in Tibet. Buildings. With its majestic momentum and unique architectural style, the Potala Palace occupies an important position in the treasures of ancient architecture in China and the world.

布达拉宫位於西藏拉萨市红山之上。布达拉为梵文音译，意为脱离苦海之舟，寓意圣地普陀山。 布达拉宫高117米，东西长370米，南北宽370米，共计十三层，房屋千间，是西藏现存最大丶最完整的集古城堡丶灵塔殿和藏传佛教寺庙为一体的建筑群。布达拉宫以其磅礴的气势和独特的建筑风格，在中国乃至世界古代建筑宝库中占有重要的地位。
