TRAVELING FROM NEW JERSEY TO MACKINAC ISLAND MICHIGAN, BEAUTIFUL PLACE !!!!!
We traveled from Jersey to Mackinac Island, Michigan. This quaint island is like going back in time, there are no vehicles allowed on the island only horses and bicycles, we took a ferry to the island on a beautiful ride, when we got there we definitely went to the famous homemade fudge shops. We then took a carriage ride to The Grand Hotel of which is World famous where we checked in. After we were all settled in we took off for town to have dinner. They have some of the best food anywhere. We were there for a week of relaxing and boating. The history of the island, the island was home to an Odawa settlement before European exploration began in the 17th century. It served a strategic position as a center on the commerce of the Great Lakes fur trade. This led to the establishment of Fort Mackinac on the island by the British during the American Revolutionary War. It was the site of two battles during the War of 1812.
