Travelling in Vietnam by motorbike

in #travel8 years ago (edited)

How do you feel if I tell you it is really easy to travel all around vietnam by motorbike?

First: Come to Ho Chi Minh and buy a motorbike

I decided to buy a new motorbike because I will stay 3 months in vietnam and then heading to Cambodia and Laos. The new detech win cost 650$ at style motorbike in Ho Chi Minh. For this price, you will have a 125cc motorbike with a phone holder, a usb charger, and racks to put your backpack. However, there are plenty of opportunities to get a cheaper bike (200$). Here is a picture of that beauty.

It is easy to ride and powerfull enough to go in the mountain.

Second: let's ride

I'm using maps.me in order to get the GPS. This app is very usefull and you should use it when travelling. Don't do more than 150/180 kilometers per day. Actually, roads are not really good and you cannot drive over 50/60 km/h. In my opinion you need 3 months if you dont want to rush. You will have to make more than 2000 kilometers.

Why would I do that?

Its the funniest thing I have ever done while travelling. With the motorbike you can go everywhere, on the beach, on the small roads etc...you live with vietnamease people and you see a lot of differents landscapes. Besides, you will meet local people and share with them. Here is some pictures of what you can expect. If you like this subject I can write down stories about the roads taken and all the steps.

Hope you liked it. This story is just my experience, the best thing is to use it to make your own experience. Everyone travels differenlty and that is why it is exciting to share.

Sorry if I made english mistakes, its not my main language.
