For some it's a childhood dream, but for Guy Mallinson, building a luxury treehouse complete with a few playful features, is now a reality. Hidden in a forest in West Dorset, England, the modern treehouse is the ultimate retreat for holidaymakers wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
A new level in luxury escapes!
Opened in the summer of 2016, the treehouse is perfect for those looking to let it all hang out in the secluded tree top get away.
This is a magical setting that can only be described as 'Utopia', with uninterrupted vistas through the tree canopy across an enchanted Dorset woodland.
On what is called the Spa Deck, there is a hot tub, a chilling out area and a sauna for two. The Woodsman's Treehouse's grand pier-like boardwalk extends into your own private kingdom: a king-sized bed, a double-ended copper bath and the rotating fireplace that can be pointed toward the bed, sofa or kitchen. A particularly notable feature is a window in the floor, looking down to the stream below. Your own little world up in the tree.
In The Trees, In Luxury
Outside on the huge rear deck there is a wood fired pizza oven and barbeque, as well as one of our now famous outdoor tree showers - supplied with endless piping hot water. It's ideal in the rain or snow as well as on any other day.
It has taken Guy Mallinson, together with his team of 20 builders, five months to actually build the treehouse. The total budget for the treehouse was 150,000 British Pounds.

The builder did an excellent job! The location is perfect, the treehouse is beautiful as well as functional. The living wall and roof are brilliant touches that allows the space to blend seamlessly with the surroundings.
