RE: The remains of Osama Bin Laden's compound, a Review
Haha going to a Pizza Hut to find out if Osama lived nearby. That's good investigative journalism (no sarcasm).
Personally I'm inclined to believe they actually found and killed him in that place. I doubt they'd have gone through the whole violating Pakistani airspace with classified stealthy Blackhawk helicopter thing if there weren't a really good reason. If they took him alive it would have been more convincing though, and I really wish they had.
I believe there are many good reasons. Obama's re-election, to show that they are winning the "War on Terror" to keep funding war, to distract the public and make them hate Muslims instead of the people in power who are working against them, weaken China indirectly, etc.
Was airspace even violated?
"One Pakistani official told CNN on Monday that the operation was American, and that Pakistan "assisted only in terms of authorization of the helicopter flights in our airspace."
He asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak about the issue.
"In any event, we did not want anything to do with such an operation in case something went wrong," the official said.
In his announcement of the raid, Obama said that "U.S. counterterrorism cooperation with Pakistan helped lead us to bin Laden and the compound where he was hiding." He said he called President Asif Ali Zardari and his "team" spoke to their Pakistani counterparts."
There are many versions of the story. All contradictory. Even a mega porn stash found. 😊
Document hoard found at al-Qaida leader’s hideout contained ‘a considerable number of pornographic videos’ but the US does not plan to release them
Why didn't they do it legitimately and not through illegal ways? What stopped them from contacting the Pakistani forces and working with them?
Because nothing says justice like killing someone that has denied any involvement in the crime he was "pegged" with, and whose guilt was established through numerous proven fake videos, and not even releasing the body for autopsy, or any kind of investigation/validation, because who was after anything but "justice".
