My Journey #1 Going to Mauritius to experience their culture and beauty

Welcome to Mauritius.jpg

Hi fellow steemians and thank you for taking the time to look through my posts and the massive amount of support that I've received thus far.

Thanks to @sweetsssj inspiration with her Travel posts, I would like to share with you, my journey of Mauritius a few years back and looking at these awesome times that I had, I realize how much I miss the beauty and peacefulness of the Mauritian ocean as well as the Mauritian hospitality, which was a breath of fresh air!!

We stayed at two different areas of the island purposefully to experience what both sides of the island have to offer. Most people would only go on vacation and stay at the same place for the duration of their visit, whilst this is great, it doesn't give you an overall experience.

The first few days consisted of relaxing at the resort since it was the first time that I could take a break in years - yes unproductive but I needed the rest.

We stayed the first week at Le Meridien Ile Maurice which is on the east side and experienced that the sand is so fine and soft that it was similar to walking on Baby powder, you couldn't believe that you were actually walking on the beach. The ocean was also extremely "quiet" and it felt like it was a massive swimming pool with the waves only starting about 5KM or 3Miles from the beach which is insane. We could grab a canoe and just chill on this larger-than-life pool whilst soaking in the beauty of the ocean and the mountain.

I enjoyed every minute of the resort where we stayed as it offered some of the warmest and friendliest atmospheres that I have ever experienced in my life. The rooms were cozy and offered not only an awesome view but also privacy which is something that I really enjoy when going on vacation.

This is the view that I had from my balcony, I am very grateful for the fact that I wasn't a late sleeper as I could enjoy the breath-taking sunrise...

We had a few nice days out on the ocean which included a day on a Glass Bottom Boat. I can definitely recommend this trip as it allows you to see the island in all its glory. You can also stop for a breather and have a Snorkeling Experience with the sea life.

The water at Mauritius is insanely clear....I could stare at it the entire day...

I am a snorkeling fanatic and had to experience this.

Our Chef :)

The food was amazing as we had a "chef" onboard that did a nice seafood BBQ which was awesome. How are you not going to enjoy freshly prepared shellfish whilst looking at this beautiful water and mountain views...

The rest of the trip was quite eventful whereas we went to Port Louis for some shopping. The Mauritian mentality is all about the tourists. They are probably the most chilled people that I have ever met - For Example, you could get a cab to the nearest market and they would sit and wait for you to finish shopping before taking you to the next location. It was quite funny when I spoke to the cab driver and he realized that I was South African. He told me that he is too scared to visit South Africa because we have lions walking in the streets lol...so if you ever do decide to visit me, just watch out for my pet lion ;)

We stayed at Preskil Beach Resort on the West side for the remainder of the vacation to experience that side of the island...I have to admit that it's night and day compared to the East Side...was still enjoyable as we had easier access to the villages and also some inland activities to keep us busy...

We went through to another massive tourist attraction which allows you to see seven different color sand all in one place, this looked so fake but I assure you it's 100% real..

Thanks for looking at my post and I will definitely be doing another post soon as I went to Mauritius a few times and the experience for some reason have always been different...
