@polebird: ❤️ Walk with me through the Fushimi Inari Shrine of Kyoto ❤️

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Located in Kyoto, Japan, the Fushimi Inari Shrine was built to honor Inari, the shinto god of rice. The entrance of the shrine stands at the bottom of the mountain, and the vermillion red tori gates line the hike up to the summit. It took us a couple of hours to hike up to the top. According to the shrine's website here , there are over 10,000 gates all painted vermillion red to ward off evil forces. Hope you enjoy the timelapse of part of the hike up the mountain I made!

That's a really long walk! But I wouldn't mind taking portraits along the way.. I've got to get to Japan.

hehe it was pretty cool walking through all those gates!

Hey Jess, are you missing some words in that first sentence?

Looks so cool though. I've been to Kyoto but we never actually saw Fushimi Inari Shrine, there is so much to see there, it's nuts.

HAHAHAH yeah I posted on the go, just got back to fix my image --- I WAS LIKE what kind of english is this that I posted ???? ooo hope you get to go if you go back!

Hahahaha, that's hilarious! I should have know you'd have it all completely under control... but thought I'd mention it just in case.

It's easily been 10 years since I was in Japan, I bet it has changed so much, I'd love to go back.... maaaannnnn, there are so many places I want to go. I need to make Steem my full time gig so I can get amongst it!

Tourist, Japan is such a nice place and I'm sure you had a swell time @polebird

thank you! :) it was a fun trip!

Well you didn't skip leg day on that day.

hahah this made me laugh! :)

What an ENDURING Shrine - the God of Rice should be pleased..

I do wish I can visit #JAPAN someday -- the Pacific Rim is quite interesting, and I am always overjoyed when I see japanese antiques in any Antique store .

Hope You had your Wheaties B-4 starting out on this Long trek !

Looks like it'd be a fulfilling journey - bet u had fun (& Relief, once you made it up ). ☻

Take care

haha I think we didn't pack much snacks and had to get at least some water towards the top where they had a little shop :P

Shrine in Japan is beautiful and has many things to see and you are pretty. :)

Thank you so much! Japan is pretty fun to visit :)

Such vibrant photos. I am dying to go to japan. Thank you for the time lapse

I have always dreamed of going in Kyoto! Did you visit other places as well and can you post more pictures? I would love to read some information about them too. :)

hi! I sure did visit other places in Japan, and other awesome things in Kyoto as well. I will definitely be posting more :)

That gate is really unique to Japan. The place seems to be a very good place to take a walk or jog. Japan really has a lot of beautiful places worth for visit, most of my favorite video games came from Japan as well as anime series :) I really love Japan. :)

yeah japan was a pretty cool trip :), the bottom of the gates were pretty busy with tourists, but not as many people actually hiked up to the top! which anime series?

Hello! I am quite new to the platform and apologize straight away if these kind of questions are not to be posted in the comments, but I will try. I see that you are into dtube and me too! I am actually writing to you to ask for a feedback :) I am doing my best on steemit, but I guess I lack something, can you please check out my profile and give constructive feedback? Because for me it is very hard to judge my posts myself. Thank you in advance for your time!!
