Playing Santa in Central America: Way too much fun!
Hola Steemahs!
My wife, my dog and I, are big freedom lovers. We left Canada for a new life in Mexico and when that didn't work out, we decided to buy a car and drive to Panama in search of even greener pastures.
However, while we were still in Tulum Mexico, our friend Mike visited from Canada. He is a very charitable guy, so he decided to visit the dollar store in Canada first, to buy about 25 toys for the Mexican kids which he had fallen in love with on his previous trip to see us.
That didn't work out. It was Tulum, and Mike is a bit of a rock star, so we just partied too much and didn't get it done. Since we were leaving for Panama a few weeks later, we asked him if it was okay to distribute the toys throughout the 7 countries that we were travelling through on our drive down. He thought it was a great idea.
Please enjoy these pics of some real happy kids, with some including my beautiful wife.

It wasn't always practical or safe for us to have a camera, and we have many amazing memories of other kids as well. It turned out to be a great idea. The kids were incredibly happy, and we felt great for being partly responsible for that. It was also a great way to make friends in a foreign land where we struggled with the language. I highly recomended this for all travellers anywhere. Even if the children aren't incredibly poor, it's cool to have stuff from somewhere else and it's a great ice breaker for meeting people.
Cheers
