Lots of comics on my first interrail
I went on a interrail last easter with my colleague @erlend.pederk. We traveled from Berlin to Leipzig to Ghent to Amsterdam to Copenhagen and back home to Oslo by train.
While in Berlin we hung out with comic artist/illustrator Bendik Kaltenborn and clothing designer Maren Saedi.
The comic festival Millionaires Club in Leipzig was very cool! There were a lot of stands everywhere with very high quality zines. We bought a lot of zines, as seen in the picture with me standing over the table. We were there with comic artist/illustrator Ola Olsen Lysgaard and Ad-hoc artist Eirik Hellebust Kristiansen.
Ghent has a lot of interesting architecture. I’ve never seen a city where all the houses look so different, yet alike. While we were there we drank a lot of trappist, just like the character Arsène in the comic by Olivier Schrauwen.
The day we were traveling to Amsterdam, the terrorist attack happened in Brussels, so a lot of the train stations were on lock-down. But we managed to slowly get to Amsterdam by taking a lot of shorter-riding trains. Thus our stay in Amsterdam was very short, but still a nice break after a lot of eventful days.
In coopenhagen we got to meet some very strange, but funny people and went to a cool blues concert.
All in all a very good trip with lots of interesting people, I will definitely travel by train again!
I want to end this post by showing you how much people from Belgium love comics. The following are instructions in case of fire:
