With floating mountains, phosphorescent rains and blue natives, Pandora, Disney's theme park inspired by Avatar, the highest grossing film in history, opened its doors near Orlando (Florida).
More than six years and almost a billion dollars of investment, according to press reports, has required the Disney group to conclude what the director of Avatar, James Cameron, has defined as "a dream that has come true" in front of his eyes
"Pandora, the world of Avatar" is located inside Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, on the outskirts of Orlando, the Mecca of these attractions for children and adults, and occupies a space of 48,600 square meters.

The first thing that draws attention when entering Pandora is a sound that resembles birdsong. Then come the rare animals, the phosphorescent rains that invite relaxation, a green nature of gigantic flowers and huge trees and the floating mountains and the waterfalls that go down them.
The visitor is in the valley of Mo'ara, a place that does not appear in the successful science fiction film of 2009, and in a time after the protagonists live (mid-22 century).
After passing through an ancient bridge, the visitors of Pandora, a planet inhabited by the Na'vi, beings of blue skin and respectful of nature, the visitor crosses caves with cuneiform signs on their rustic walls, which give an idea of life past of this extraterrestrial civilization.

Then you go into a forest of lights, a unique flora, with small details, like showers of colors, and you can see the wild life that lives there.
"I was 19 years old the first time I dreamed of this, an exotic and harmonious world and great respect for nature," Cameron said on Wednesday at a previous opening of the park, product of the collaboration between Walt Disney World and the filmmaker Lightstorm Entertainment

In addition to Cameron, the producer Jon Landau and the main actors of the film attended, among them Zoe Saldaña and Sigourney Weaver.
"Working with Jim and his team has been a dream come true for us, that we went beyond the limits of creativity and innovation to bring the digital world of Pandora to the real world of the Animal Kingdom," said Bob Iger, president of Walt Disney World.
Although inspired by the famous movie, which made a box office of more than 2,000 million dollars, Pandora has been created with a life of its own, explained Joe Rohde, executive director of portfolios of Disney's "Imagineering" (creative engineers).
"More than reliving the adventures of the characters in the film, you will come to the planet where these things happen and have your own adventure, which only belongs to you," he added.

Pandora, located in the Alpha Centauri star system, more than four light years from the earth, but actually one step away from Orlando, in the center of Florida, has two main attractions.
The Avatar Flight of Passage is a simulator similar to a motorcycle that transmits a real sensation of sitting on a "banshee", the mythical and initiation animal of the Na'vi, with which the visitor flies over Pandora and has close encounters with alien predators and strange creatures.
"Flying in a banshee is exciting, you're going to throw yourself, you're going to submerge, you're going to dive in. It's like dreaming with your eyes open," Cameron said after living the experience.

The Na'vi River Journey, a more relaxing adventure, consists of a boat ride through a river that goes into a different world of plants and celestial forests, bathed in a set of bioluminescent lights at night.
It is during this trip that the visitor will have the opportunity to meet up close with the figure of the Shaman of Songs, three meters high, who sends with his song messages of good will to humans.
