Manila Guide | Philippines Travel | Rough Guides
Yes, we go alone. Usually for the previous trip I went with many friends, at least 6 people for saving our budget. But this trip is just a couple of times as I want to challenge myself whether I can explore the country with just under RM500?
Not only that, this trip I brought my best friend who never travel anymore throughout his life, this is the first time he travels. His passport is only ready 3 days before departure. Hahaha.
Syukur Alhamdulillah, our RM500 budget is enough for 3 days there. There is no reason to go to travel if your friends are not crowded.
Remember, to travel to anywhere, the number of friends is not important, though only alone, but important, your heart is strong and bold. That's the main key if you want to travel to someone's place.
The first time we went to Manila and without any advice or guidance, we were faced with the difficult experience of getting halal food in the Philippine capital.
For your knowledge, 3 days there we only eat Maggi Tom Yam only for lunch and dinner. For breakfast we eat only chocolate oatmeal biscuits.
Imagine 3 days we did not touch the rice, it was good. But we live, haha. After all, the rice is the will, not even if you do not eat. Hehe. Actually, there is a halal restaurant je, but the location is somewhat far from where we are staying ie in Baclaran which is the majority Muslim population.
What is interesting in Manila? You must be wondering right? Okay, from the corner of the eye, Manila Metropolitan City is not much different from Kuala Lumpur. Their traffic system is really bad. Poor traffic congestion in Kuala Lumpur, worse in Manila.
The way they drive cars is like no law, we can hardly say here. Perhaps it is said they are driving according to their feelings. Hahahaha. The sound of the hubbub of hon is coming back all the time. Not to mention coupled with the enthusiasm of sounding street construction. Allahu, that's when it's busy in Manila.
I recommend that you do not rent a car here once in a while. If you do not want migraine to attack you. Hahahha. So what are we up to? Grab Grab Car la. Grab Car is sprouting up, you open Grab Car apps, eyes open to see how much people there work for Grab Car drivers.
With its cheap fare, Grab Car should have been our top choice for there. If you want a cheap fare, you can try Jeepney. Jeepney is indeed rare and is the main public transport there. Each fare he stops only 10 Pesos, about RM1 only. Cheap cheap crazy.
In the capital of the Philippines it is also said that many crimes are rampant. Examples of pockets, gangsterism, kidnapping, robbery and so on. So it is not surprising that every shopping center or in places where the public is all under tight security by the main entrance. Security will check the bag you are carrying. Do not occasionally bring suspicious items.
That is the situation in Manila, a metropolitan city that few people know that once was an Islamic city. The last King of Islam ruled Manila was King Soliman @ Sulaiman. Prior to that, Manila was ruled by his uncle, King Matanda and Lakandula. Manila has been trying to become the capital of Islam in the archipelago.
Unfortunately, the Spanish colonization that was so bitter against Muslims following what was happening in their homeland, had been 'converted' to Manila and even the whole of the Philippines to this day. The remaining Muslims of the 94 million population are now only 5%! How the loss of Islam in Andalusia, as well as the loss of Islam in the Philippines.
After the defeat of King Solomon, the Spanish colonizers continued to show their grudging grudge. They tore down Raja Sulaiman's government site in the city of Manila and set up a city around their headquarters called Fort Santiago. The area within the city is known as Intramuros which is the tourist destination until today.
Ok at the end of my intro, haha. Now we turn to the main motive, what is it interesting in Manila? Well, what I said before was just the rough eye. In fact there are plenty of interesting places to visit, including Fortune Island, Taal Volcano, Masungi, Intramuros, Makati, Bukal Falls and many more. The people here are also fine, the girls here do not say, many are beautiful. Hik hik. Alhamdulillah as long as we are here everything goes smoothly without any serious problems.
Here I would like to share our complete itinerary for 3 days 2 nights and the cost of the loss.
