JAISALMER diaries 3rd day
This day started with a thought of going to the desert for a camping. my host dilbar has the desert safari packages. as I am a student and his guest he offered me a wonderful package with no commission or extra cost. he told me that as it's a beginning of that season there were no other tourists with his group. so he arranged my travel with a few other travelers. the jeep reached the hotel exact 3 pm in the evening. I was almost ready at that time. there were 2 other travelers from the Czech Republic. actually, they are father-son. there were 3 young guys were there to help us with the desert camping and camel safari. the desert is 40 km far from the jaisalmer city so it had taken around 1 and a half hour to reach their village. from this village, we got camels and we had to ride them for next 1.5 hrs. we met some villagers there and you can see their beautiful home also
I got a big camel whose name was danny. i called him as my Danny boy.
from there we had taken around 1.5 hr to reach the desert. but, when i was sitting on the camel i had been still thinking about the people who were walking down with us and the camel who was carrying . in that journey I had interacted a lot with fellow travelers. they had been in india for a 3 month vacation. they had covered many places before. the father had come to india 2o years ago. this was his 4th time visit to india.
at last we reached the desert at 5.30 or 6 pm. the desert sand was cooled down at that time and we could see a mesmerizing sunset over there and we enjoyed the color of the sky. we roamed around there after having a hot black coffee which was made by those people who were helping us in the desert camp.
till the dinner time, we were roaming over the desert alone. none was there. so complete calmness and beauty of the nature we could experience on that day. then we had a sumptuous dinner, they cooked all those food in the desert itself and that too with limited facilities. still it's one of the best dinner i have ever had. that ambiance wazs very nic. later we had a camp fire session and in that session, they had sung songs for us, some folk songs and some stories about the jaisalmer.
ohh!! sorry guys, i forgot to show you my bed's picture. it's one of the best night there. with that ambiance and chilled weather
have you ever slept like this? it's really wonderful guys. if you get a chance to visit desert don't forget to stay there at least one night like this. i am pretty sure that it would be a great experience for you.
