From Sicily, I continued north by train. Since I was taking a daytime train, I included a rest day halfway to Milan in a small town called Sapri. After the comings and goings of the previous days, it was good to have a little rest. Anyway, I didn't want to make the 12-hour Catania-Milano train journey in one. This train runs mostly along the coast and is very beautiful, but there are a lot of tunnels.
Milan doesn't have as many sights as Rome, but I still think it's beautiful.

My further journey led me to Ventimiglia. This town is next to the Italian-French border. My accommodation was here and I took the train from here to go on a trip to Monaco, Monte-Carlo. I always wanted to walk where the Formula 1 cars race. I remembered the time when we were children and watched Formula 1 races on TV. And the time when my uncle took us out to the Hungaroring and we walked in the pit lane after the race. Of course, when I was there, I looked at the exhibition of the Duke's car collection and, of course, the city.
