The astronomical clock was under renovation. If your trip to Prague just won't be complete without viewing it, check before you go to be sure it won't be covered up by scaffolding. The town hall itself is worth a visit, mostly to be able to go up into the tower to have a view of the old town square below. It was especially beautiful at night.
