👾 Gotham City Lounge VS Game Over Lounge 👾 : 🇺🇸 Brooklyn's bar VS Bangkok's cafe 🇹🇭
If a bar is now a usual place you rather hangout than a club, you are no longer dressing up looking fancy trying to steal spotlights or hoping to get laid on Friday nights then you are probably in your late 20's - early 30's. It's hard to deny that aging is catching up and something a little more laid back with a nostalgic vibe is much preferred. A little escape to go back to when you didn't have to care about making money or tired of "adulting"; if you can relate to all these points then luck is on your side! I'm taking you to two awesome hidden chambers in one post!
When in New York City people often think of a glamorous, cosmopolitan concrete jungle; a city that never sleeps like scenes from Sex and the City but my time in NYC earlier this year I actually found a place for a week stay from Airbnb right at Bushwick; Brooklyn. The area is known for colorful and eclectic, not the safest area in NYC but where is anyway? I got inspired of choosing this area because for the past years I have been hooked on series like "Two Broke Girls" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" where they were broke and really poor. Perhaps the millennial are really getting poorer.
The bar I was talking about is called Gotham City Lounge ; Bushwick. This is how it looks during the day.
Basically it's a bar that is inspired by our childhood favorite Super Hero and Villain characters not only DC's but also Marvel's and even Star Wars.
Even their drinks menu are named after them and they are a lot cheaper than bars on the Upper East Side.
You can read comics on the bar-top to avoid any eye-contact whenever you feel uncomfortable, as in sitting at the bar-top right across a bartender can be quite awkward sometimes isn't it.
Here are the 2 cocktails off the menu; Dare Devil (strong enough to make me blind) and Harley Quinn (pleasant as how Harley looks with a fun kick after a few rounds.)
It's really nothing but good vibe. They also have a pool table and a few arcade game machines as entertainments.
Traveling to New York City can be very expensive and if your wallet does not permit then Bangkok is your best of friends. Cheaper tickets, food, accommodation, cheaper everything except for Apple's products and US brand stuffs obviously.
Bangkok is also another city that doesn't sleep and being young at heart isn't anything new either! This is Gameover Lounge.
The bar offers a wide range of games such as board games, beer pong, PS4, giant Jenga and many more.
This is a new area where they have put in more tables and a little less noisy than another section if you are here to do some caught up.
Here is the giant Jenga that people play on a chair instead of a table.
Their food and drinks are topknot and Western enough for you to enjoy this fusion culture bistro and bar.
They have very recent games that are up to date and 18+ games are also available. My friends and I played this silly games based on memes from 9gag and it was hilarious!
I have my good friends coming over from NYC this coming weekend and I'll definitely bring them here.
I hope you enjoy this outing with me. Next time you visit any of these cities don't forget about these cool places and you will have a great time!
Lots of love,
Annie xo
That first paragraph is like a page from my own book haha, I'm in literally that stage now where I'd prefer to be in a bar than a club!!
This Game Over place looks like a super cool place to hang, we've got a lot of these 'themed' bars in Sydney now as well where they try to distinguish themselves by having a certain theme or 'X' factor. I like this trend, makes it a more interesting place to hang than just somewhere that serves a drink.
Thanks for sharing!
I know right!! Now even when my boyfriend wants to go out drinking I'd be like .. ya go, I'll stay mask my face and all. You totally should do a little post on such cafe. I guess it's a trend now to have a cafe with gimmicks. So you stand out from the rest and it can be a strong unique selling point too. Looking forward to your X factor post!!
Yeah I think you're right, competition is high so they have to find a point of difference. I'll see if I can visit one of them and post it on Steemit :)
