The advantages of going to sea outside the tourist season
I discovered the Bulgarian Black Sea coast a year ago. During the health crisis. When in Bulgaria you could still walk and visit almost everything (as long as it was open, of course), you could sleep in hotels and visit restaurants without hindrance.
And in fact, my last visit to the coast was just before the last restrictions, before the introduction of the certificate and the thousands of requirements for sleeping in hotels and visiting restaurants. So I was extremely lucky in that regard.
But it was out of season.
Why out of season? Because the sea holiday out of season has thousands of advantages. For my part, some of these benefits are related to health.
I have told you that the Bulgarian Black Sea coast has a huge problem with sewage that flows directly into the sea. For this reason, I personally cannot enter the sea. And over the years, I have come to terms with this fact. I'd rather not go in than lie in bed with a gastrointestinal upset during the rest of my vacation or go to the emergency room.
But its not only that.
There are many other huge benefits. First, there is no constant crowd that surrounds you everywhere - on the beach, on the streets, in restaurants. Everything is empty. Well, at the moment it is not, because of the Ukrainian emigrants who have flooded the entire coast, but in general it is quite empty at this time of year. As after the summer months - in September and October.
Hotel rooms are easy to find (as long as the hotels are open). And at a reasonable price. (If you're lucky), but in general, the prices of the rooms in the hotels are higher during the season. As well as the prices in the restaurants.
(That's not me, it's just another random sea coast visitor outside of the season.)
The staff is polite and you will be served quickly and well. Unlike the service in the season, when the possibility of being lied to in the bill, getting bad food or waiting for a very long time is very high.
Then - the possibility of burning your skin in the sun during the peak season is very high, right? Even if you are careful, as I am already.

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
I completely agree with you about the advantages. The sea view is beautiful. ;)
Thank you, @tangmo! I do not know if all resorts in all countries have the same problems in the high tourist season. Probably not. But in general, many things are avoided when using other vacation time. 😊
Cheers
You're welcome! I'm not sure about that... ;)
