Good morning from Pilanesberg - Thirsty Elephant

Funny story. I was outside our chalet getting a fire going for a braai, when this guy down walks from our left, to the watering hole on the right of us, that is just below the restaurant in the complex we are staying.

The funny part is that this massive animal walked past about 30 people who were in their chalets and no one noticed but me.

When an elephant walks, they are pretty much silent. You will hear them if you see them, but if you're not concentrating on it, it will be invisible to your ears.

Beautiful beings elephants are. Incredible amount of power packed into one being. These are kings of the jungle.

Good morning everyone, and I hope you experience a beautiful Sunday.

Holy cow!.... did you try and toss it some food or something? Or did you keep your distance?

Always best to respect an animal like that and keep your distance, especially in a place where it is largely wild. And no, it's not recommended that you feed any animal in a reserve.

Our units look over into the reserve, so we can watch animals roaming. Being winter now, animals come to that watering hole to drink.

Thats still pretty amazing though! Good thing you have a steemit account and can share your animal pics with us😍

Wouldn't want to share it with any other community.... :)

There are few things more majestic on the planet than an elephant. Beautiful!

Did you by any change went on a the open vehicle safari?

A little late in replying, but yes, you can go on a drive with an open vehicle that the park provides. You cannot drive in one yourself, but can be taken by the rangers.
