Travel to Batad, Banaue: The Eight Wonder of the World 旅行到巴達德，巴納：世界八大奇蹟 السفر إلى بتاد، باناو: عجب العالم الثامن

My love for nature sent me to the UNESCO World heritage site in Batad in Banaue, Ifugao province of the Philippines. This stone-walled rice terraces is located just near the 2,000 year-old Banaue rice terraces. And so i want to share my journey being a backpacker.

Itinerary and fares

Together with my cousin, we went on a bus enroute to Banaue from Manila. Took us 9 hours before we get there. Fare is surprisingly just 450 Pesos (around $9) though. The trips to Banaue from Manila are limited. It's strongly recommended to book your tickets or else you might find some difficulties.

The bus dropped us off to Banaue Town Proper in where we must register at the tourism office to pay for a 20-pesos environmental fee. We took a tricycle ride to the Batad Saddle Point which cost us P500 ($10). From there we hired a tour guide for our Banaue journey to know more about the place, for our safety, and a bit of knowledge about Ifugao's culture.

The natives speaks one of the 6 ethnoliguistic groups of the "Igorot" tribe, the "Ifugao".

This place is a mountainous so trekking is the only way for us to move around the place. We hydrated ourseves before we start the trekking to the famous Tappiya Falls in Batad.

We took a jeepney back in town.
