Why Do We Travel? - "Traveling is a disease ... that saves your life"

What are the good things for if they are not for doing them in excess?

Why do we travel? What drives us to visit different places? This question, which apparently seems the simplest, contains endless answers. Each person has their reasons to move. Some travel in search of new destinations and new emotions. Others want to know other people's cultures and stories and immerse themselves in new worlds. There are also those who want to relax and forget everything, who travel in search of scenarios to practice sports, who seek inspiration ... The options are endless.

Traveling is much more than doing a check mark on a bucket list, more than taking a photo to upload to Facebook. It is realizing that luxury is not in material things, in a big house, a last model car or brand clothes. The real luxury is in looking at a person who has another culture, another language, other traditions, and who can communicated everything to you just with a smile. One does not travel to know how different we are from others, but to reach the conclusion that no matter where we live, we are more similar than we think.

Traveling has become a subject, a desire and an obligation. It is the detox or the rehab that the mind and the heart need. We flood our body with things that are not good and then we have to clean it with different methods, and likewise the mind and the heart ask for help from time to time. And that's when you leave the house, get on a plane and come back again. We do not run away from anything, on the contrary, we travel with the desire to return different, better, and at the same time older, with more stories, more ideas, more doubts, more desire to travel.

We are who we are because of the places we have visited, the people we have met, the situations we have faced, but above all, we are what we are thanks to all that enters our eyes and we allow it to stay in our heart.

We travel because when you leave your world for a while you return more grateful for what you have. The climate, the landscape, the nature, the culture, the traditions, the people. You learn to live with less, happier, more comfortable with yourself and the space you occupy.

You grow as a person, and when you return what seemed normal to you, it does not seem like it anymore. What was a proper routine, you do not find how to follow it. It is there that you realize that you did not just grow in time.
