India - Part 2 - Sunburn Festival, Hippies and More
Hello friends, I was busy reading all your comments and posts. Too many talented people and interesting stories here. I think I'm wasting too much time on Steemit. hehehe
This is the second part of my adventures in India. If you didn't read the first part you can find it here:

We bought the tickets for the Sunburn Festival online, I do not remember the exact price. Anyway, the first thing I did was go to collect my ticket. So I rode the motorbike to the Box Office. It was very hot but I was wearing jeans because I was worried to fall down and scratch my legs. I was planning to dance a lot so I wanted to have some protection just in case. By the way, riding motorcycle in India is extremely dangerous, people there do not follow any traffic rules whatsoever. If you want to survive you need to ring the horn all the time, forget about using blinkers they are useless there.
When I got to the box office I noticed there were several cops around giving fines to people. I didn't know why they were giving fines until they got me. According to them, it was forbidden to smoke there so I got fined. Here you can see the face of the cop that saw me smoking meters away. This remided me of Australia were you will get fined for any reason. Those cops love to give fines but that topic is for another post.
I collected my ticket and it was still early and with so many cops around we decided to go somewhere else to warmup for the event. We found a reggae bar and went inside to have a few drinks and smoke some pot. I was wearing a funny hat because I was in a funny mood and ready to party Indian style.
*Pro tip, many reggae bars in Asia (India is technically in Asia) will also sell pot so if you want to get some just go to a reggae bar and talk with the bar tender.
After a few drinks it was opening time so we headed for the event. When we got there it was still early so we went to the top of the hill to take a few pictures of the venue.
However, after a few hours the whole place was packed, completely full of people. As you can imagine these events are always crowded but considering India is one of the most populous countries in the world the place was really full of people. The event was fine but I recommend you to go there very drunk otherwise you will spend most of the day waiting to buy a drink inside.
I meet several girls but nothing happened because Indian girls are very conservative when it comes to hooking up but still we danced with them and had some fun. However some girls asked for my number and they called me later that night but it was too noisy to even understand what they were saying. For some reason Indian girls were friendly to me but they didn't like my friend. He didn't care at all and found himself two Australian girls, so we got separated.
After the event finished I wanted to go back to my hotel but I couldn't find my bike. The reason was there were thousands of motorbikes and I was also extremely drunk. Just look at this picture there were so many motorcycles and scooters. I never saw something like that.
Since I could not find my bike I decided to go to for dinner and wait until people leave so it would be easier to find my ride. I found a bar/restaurant close to Baga beach, inside that bar I met the owner. The owner was somehow friendly but I could tell he was dodgy. He came and sat next to me. He was smoking a joint and told me - My name is Dipty (same name as the bar), I have everything, what do you want. I asked him what do you have. He said - I have cocaine, extasis, pot, and lsd. I asked him for some extasis, we agreed on the price and I also ordered some food. While I was eating my friend arrived there by chance and we also meet an African girl.
The next day it was new years eve but we didn't have any plans nor we knew where to go. We decided to go to a beach and then we saw there was a party in one of those clubs, we went there and they told us it was a private party but they still left us in. Once inside I got a bottle of water and threw all the extasis inside and started to drink it with my friend. Then I met a russian guy. It was a very funny situation because he could not speak english at all and I can't speak russian but somehow we manged to communicate and became friends.
We spent several hours in that party and it was getting late and most people left. Since we were complete intoxicated we could not drive back to our hotel. However, the bartender of that club told us - You can stay here until tomorrow. So we decided to stay there.
After a while a bunch of spanish and french hippies went inside the venue ordered beers and started to smoke pot on the table next to us. My friend and I wanted to smoke some so we offered them the bottle of extasis in exchange for some joints (at that point we could not drink more of that shit, we were completely wasted) they agreed and we joined them and started to share stories. They had some instruments so we were playing music and panting our faces.
After that the hippies told us to go with them to a reggae party not far from where we were, so we went there. By this time the sun was already rising.
I was so tired I went and sat in a beach chair facing the beach and for some reason perhaps the drugs or the alcohol I started to reflect on my life. I was thinking what the fuck am I doing and fell asleep. When I woke up I was feeling much more in control and ready to drive back to my hotel. I said farewell to the friends I made the night before. One of them gave me some hashish as a parting gift and wished me good luck.
While I was driving back to my hotel I could still hear the reggae beats in my head and was feeling sick of drinking so much and taking drugs so I decided I had enough of Goa and the hippie lifestyle. My friend was feeling the same way so we decided to start the motorcycle road trip the next day.
In the next and last part of my adventure in India I will share my motorcycle roadtrip. Amazing pictures and videos coming on the next part.

My old haunt ;) Spent 10 years back and to there man! Great place! Spent 6 months last year, had a business in Anjuna.
Check out Thalassa for some excellent food! Vagator hill up from 9 Bar!
Curlies south Anjuna beach is worth checking out for some parties! That's the big party place before the Psy parties. Have fun! Go steady on the bikes and watch out for the cows in the dark on the bikes! Seriously bro! Peace
Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes, Goa and Anjuna are such legendary beaches for those of us who like trance and psytrance. Too many awesome beaches. It is the hippie central of the world. An awesome experience!
