Touring Africa -3- Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
Next stop was the famous Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. I would claim it is a must see if you are exploring these parts of Africa. It is an UNESCO world heritage site. By some considered part of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world. It is classified as the largest waterfall in the world. The highest fall is 108 meters and if you go to the edge opposite you can skip showering in the morning.
It is hard to grasp the extent of the falls just by looking at photos, but I will try to show you a few different angles.
No point in putting sunscreen on :-p
In Vic Falls there was plenty to do and plenty to see. You could bungy jump, take a micro flight tour of the falls, paddle the Zambezi river, go to a croc farm, walk with lions, go to a "casino" and there were elefants almost in the town. At the croc farm you could by croc skin souvenirs, hold baby crocs and see how the farm worked.
And they taste pretty much like chicken :-)
The micro flight was pretty cool. You get a totally different perspective of the falls from up above.
Think I was too afraid of dropping the camera though, so you will have to go there to see it for yourself.
Paddling down the river was awesome, and I would definitely recommend it. Just, do not fall in. There are hippos and crocs in the river but luckily we did not encounter any :-)
On the way out of the bush we got blocked by a herd of elefants crossing our road.
They were pretty curious and our African driver started getting nervous :-p
Last but not least. I love animals so it was a big treat being able to walk with lions. A must do if you have the opportunity to.
One small funny fact. Because of the inflation in Zimbabwe their money is worth close to nothing. I bought some notes as a souvenir and the biggest note had 14 nils.
Next stop: Botswana
Have a nice day :-)
