Nakhon Si Thammarat is an interesting Southern province of Thailand; i.e. it has the largest population in the southern region and is the second largest in area in the southern region (after Surat Thani province).

There are many fascinating attractions in Nakhon Si Thammarat, but today I would like to present to you two outstanding things…..

Firstly, I would like to introduce “Wat Mahathat Woramahawihan” to you. This temple is a tourist attraction in Nakhon Si Thammarat. It is a sacred ancient site and is one of the inspirations for the local people for a long time.

The highlight of this temple is that the top of the pagoda is covered with real gold.

It’s said that no matter which way the sun shines, the pagoda will not have a shadow cast on the ground. It’s really amazing. This is considered to be one of Unseen Thailand.

In addition, the architectural beauty of the temple can attract many people to pay homage.

Secondly, one of the famous foods that should not be missed when visiting Nakhon Si Thammarat is Khanom Jeen.

Khanom Jeen (or rice noodles) in Nakhon Si Thammarat is normally served with various kinds of curry; i.e. Kaeng Tai Pla or fermented fish entrails curry which is a famous curry of the South that has a unique spiciness and other curries.

These curries are very spicy, but you can release the hot taste with various kinds of fresh vegetables.
