thetravelman and his crew looking at the eclipse through a giant NASA telescope and custom binoculars !
When we arrived at Madras' OR for the eclipse our neighbor was a NASA scientist. Above is the picture of his telescope. I was fortunate enough to look at Saturn through the scope. It was so amazingly beautiful. I could see all the rings around the planet. And through this telescope Saturn was the size of a softball. Being with scientists for 2 days they were some very creative people. Very new to me as I am a city boy. Below is a picture of me looking through the binoculars with the eye protective lens covering the end of the binoculars. This was intense!!! 100% totality up close and personal!
As we left Madras' and headed for Eugene Oregon one of our friends was working at a glass house in the hills. Below is a picture. This was incredible. 17 glass blowers under one roof. They distribute there items all across the USA. Some of the pieces of art were amazing!! There was a do not touch table and it was filled with purple glass necklace pieces that I wanted to touch so bad! Oregon truly is a loving happy state.
I hope you all enjoy my pictures and stories. I highly recommend getting a group of friends together and just hit the road!!
