Challenge #1 Conclusion: Turn 10 BTC into €10,000 cash in 10 days
So the first Challenge came to an end, I attempted to turn 10 BTC (€ 5,042) into €10,000 cash in 10 days (8/19-8/29) in Barcelona playing Poker.
After the first 10h session of No Limit Hold'em with Blinds €5/€10 I already lost €3,007. Afterwards I deposited 1 BTC on an online BTC Pokersite, but didn't end up playing there as the action seemed really slow. So I decided to convert the BTC into cash and play another Session at the Casino with the remaining €2,035.
I wish I could report a crazy heater but the very unexciting truth is I dropped the whole amount. Without a doubt the first Challenge of the Blog was a pretty ridiculous fail and couldn't have gone worse, these 10 BTC were burned pretty quickly. :D Sorry I couldn't deliver any exciting stories, that's how it goes sometimes and there weren't even any very interesting spots I don't think.
I played another couple tournaments in Barcelona with €1,100 / €2,200 / €440 / €5,300 / €10,300 Buy-Ins but didn't win anything in any of them. The Cashgames started going a bit better after the Challenge but all in all a financially disappointing trip, at least I had a great time with friends and my girlfriend and squeezed in some great dinners (CDLC / Shoko / Opium / Oaxaca were my favorites).
On Sunday morning we flew to London to play Onlinepoker (many pokersites are not legally accessible from Spain). We needed a hotel for that night and my girlfriend wanted to use hotwire.com.. (If you don't know the website check it out, you basically choose pricerange / area of a hotel but don't know where you end up staying). We ended up in some sort of castle 90 mins from Brighton where we planned on staying, fun experience but not really convenient. ;) At least the onlinepoker went decent, including a $6,000 satellite win to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, which is one of my favorite places in the world, can't wait to go back!
I'm gonna buy a GoPro and another camera to take more pictures / videos of the upcoming trips, will be fun to have more memories and make this blog a bit nicer.
