Come Visit Laos!
Sabaidee and welcome to Vientiene, Laos! Land of a Million Elephants.
This first image is of "Patuxai" completed in 1968 is a memorial that was built to honor Laotian soldiers who had fought in the war of independence against France. The monument has a mixture of both western architecture and Laotian architecture as well as some Buddhist ornaments.
この最初の写真は1968年に完成したパトゥザイのもので、フランスとの独立戦争で戦ったラオス兵士を敬うため建てられた記念碑だそうです。記念碑には西洋の建築とラオスの建築と仏教の装飾が混在しています。
Statue of sleeping Buddha.
Even though Laos is composed of several different ethnic groups that each practice their own religion, Budhistism, is the major religion in the country. This is evident everywhere you go where you will notice that there are temples everywhere as well as Buddhist monks walking about. It was a culture shock to see such a thing.
眠っている仏像(-_-)zzz
ラオスはそれぞれ独自の宗教を習ういくつかの異なる民族集団で構成されていますが、バシヒズムは国の主要な宗教です。
いろんなカルチャーショックがありました!
Some more pictures of Buddhist statues. These statues are located at Buddha Park also known as Wat Xieng Khuan, there are more than 200 statues in this park.
Another popular attraction is the night market where you can find products at a relatively cheap price and take a look at various cultural and traditional articles of clothing.
もう一つの人気スポットは比較的安く買え伝統的な服をみることができるナイトマーケットです
And then there's the food, by far the cheapest meals I've had. You can get Lao style Pad Thai for just about 20,000 kip which converts to roughly $2.50 and a beer or coke for 10,000 kip which is a little over $1.00. So with just about $4.00 you can get enough food to fill your stomach!
ラオスのパッタイは20,000kip 約250円で食べれて、ビールやコーラは100円なので少しだけ高いくらいなんです。たったの350円でお腹いっぱいになることができます!
Cheers mate!
Nice, sounds like a pretty chill lifestyle.
Yes, you should visit it sometime
It seems just wow, simply amazing :) The food looks tempting, *slurp *slurp :D
I wish I could save enough so that i travel to all such beautiful places, one day. *Sigh
Your post reminds me a beautiful laid back town of Vientiane. Thanks @travelcouple1 for sharing.
I visit Lao PDR a couple of times each year, and I've never failed to enjoy my stay there. Although small and having the feel of a village, I could quite easily move to Vientiane and live there. It's such a contrast to other capital cities and you seem to have explored the main attractions during your time there. I really do love Buddha Park, and glad you made the visit.
Yeah we really had a great time in Vientiane. The only thing we didn't do while in Laos is we didn't go to Vang Vieng which I heard is amazing and we also missed out on Luang Prabang but we will definitely go back Laos and explore these other towns.
Vang Vieng is amazing, and I tend to spend a couple of weeks there each Winter. Luang Prabang is beautiful, but a little sleepy if your looking for adventure. Both well worth visiting though.
