Top Things To Do In Isla Mujeres- A Beautiful And Fun Island!
Isla mujeres is a beautiful island with plenty of fun activities and beautiful warm turquoise waters! It's is a small island about 4.3 miles long with about a little past 12,000 inhabitants. Isla Mujeres main source of income is tourism. Considering that Cancun is close by many people that visit Cancun will take a ferry and spend the day here or even spend the night. I like that Isla Mujeres has something for everyone and from economic hotels and restaurants to the high end for those who are looking for luxury! The island's main transportation system is golf carts, scooters and some taxis. Today I would like to show you what Isla Mujeres has to offer and the options you have weather you want to come and visit this island for a day or spend the night and do multiple activities!

Playa Norte
The Island’s main and most beautiful beach in my opinion. This is a shallow and warm water beach perfect for swimming and safe even for non-swimmers as it is only chest deep. People also come here for snorkeling as the waters are clean and clear. There are tours for snorkeling here as well as the Café Del mar, which offers food and drinks and gives you access to the beach and beach beds to spend a relaxing day at the beach. You can also rent a palapa and chairs for the day from any of the bars. If you are not able to spend the night in Isla Mujeres, you can easily spend a day trip at this beach! The beach provides everything you need to spend a good day at the beach from restrooms, food, drinks showers and is perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
Tortugranja
Tortugranja is a turtle farm in Isla Mujeres. This is the home to the eggs of giant turtles. For years these turtles were used for hunting and their meat and eggs, but now that the government protects them their eggs are placed in safe areas to keep them away from predators. Once the turtles are born they are released and taken back to the ocean. I love that about this turtle farm and wish to be able to go back on day they do the release of turtles. Usually kids from the local schools and tourists are taken to help with the process of the release of the turtles. You can also feed the titles at this farm if you purchase a bag of food for them. The entrance is only $20 pesos so this attraction is quite reasonable.
El Centro
El centro is the downtown of Isla Mujeres. This is where all the major businesses are located including the dock for the ferries. Considering that it is a small island it is very tranquil and relaxing place. You see many tourist here as this is the center point of the island and where everyone is booking tours or rental gear such as scooters or golf carts, which are very popular for exploring the island. There are plenty of restaurants, banks, shops, bars and hotels in El Centro if you want a more affordable stay this is a good place.
Garrafon Natural Reef Park
This is a natural water park where you can do activities like hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, zip lining and much more. This park is very popular and well known for how beautiful it is! The cost of this park is about $89 dollars and that includes the basic water activities and gear as well as the use of hammocks for relaxation if you prefer this over activities or simply take a break. There are also special packages for swimming with dolphins and VIP experience which go from $109-$209 dollars. If you have the time this is a good option for a day full of fun and activities!
Parque de Los Suenos
This park is perfect for those who are coming to visit Isla Mujeres for the day. This allows you to have fun with all the activities offered and at the same time have a place to relax and enjoy the water. The cost for a day pass here is $60 per day per person or $45 for half a day. The park offers a lounge, chairs, hammocks, showers, restrooms and pretty much all you need to spend the day with comfort. You can do activities such as paddle bording, kayak, snorkel and zipline here as well for a lower cost than the Garrafon Natural park.
MUSA
Museo Subacuatico de Arte is a museum that demonstrates environmental science as well as art. It offers such a unique experience that is worth mentioning. I never knew that these type of museums existed. Is pretty much a museumunder water. You can see reef, sculptures and even bottles with messages that have been collected and saved here. It is a unique way to see a museum by experiencing it under water! If you have not done this I think you should give this a try!
