Trip to Prague- Restaurants, Sightseeing and Shopping
In may we decided to spend 4 days in Prague.
We started our trip on Thursday by car from Munich to the Czech capital. We needed about 3 and 1/2 hours to get there.
Downtown the architecture is awesome, I promise that you would be surprised, but if you get out of the city centre, you will be a little bit disappointed. I have collected restaurants, shopping tips etc..
In the following I will give you all my tips.
FOOD
Trdelník
It's a delicious baked sweet. It looks a little bit like an ice cream waffle, but the sweet is so fluffy. The traditional Czech sweet is made with cinnamon and you're able to choose what comes with it.
We had two times the version with ice cream.
You can find it at many food stands.
We tasted the Trdelník at a place opposite the big shopping centre PALLADIUM
( I will talk about the shopping opportunities later).
It tasted gorgeous!
If you are in Prague, you must taste the Trdelník.
CHOCO CAFÉ (Betlémské nám. 8/1004, Praha 1)
The Choco Café is on the side of a little square, which is called Betlémské námesti.
I've chosen a hot chocolate with coconut milk and a blueberry cheesecake.
Especially the cake was really delicious!
My sister had the same cheesecake and white hot chocolate. She loved the white chocolate.

BANH-MI-BA (Rybná 26, 110 00 Staré Město)
The Banh-mi-ba is a vietnamese restaurant, which has great, inexpensive meals.
I ate a bowl with pawns, nudels etc. ( the bowl is called: mien ga es)
If you like Vietnamese food , it would be the perfect place for you.
U FLEKU
The U Fleku is a really old restaurant with a long tradition (since 1499). The first evening we had our meal there, because my dad has been there many years before. They serve you real bohemian food and black beer. It was good, but I don't have to eat it every day. We were outside at their beer garden. The little garden looks absolutely traditional and it is. But the place is known as tourist spot, that's why there are always many tourists.
SHOPPING
PALLADIUM (Nám. Republiky 1, 110 00 Nové Město, Tschechien)
This is a big shopping centre with all the popular shops like Topshop, H&M etc.. It is exactly in the city centre, you just have to leave the subway station Namesti Republiky and there you are!
Inside you will find not only shops, there is also a large food corner, which offers mexican food, McDonalds etc.
VÁCLAVSKÉ NÁMESTI
The english name for this street is Wenceslas Square .
This is the main shopping street in Prague.
Shops like C&A, Marks and Spencer etc. are placed in this street.
Attention!!!
a) Don't forget to change money, but it is often cheaper to get the money in Czech and not in your country!
b) Do not take too much jewelry oder very expansive stuff with you, sometimes you can see a running thief on the street!
c) You don't need a car in the city centre, it is better to take the subway, tram or to go on foot.
I advice you to take the subway and not so much the tram. The tram is really dirty and some people inside the tram behaved absolutely crazy, when I used it.
All over Prague is a wonderful city and it is worth spending 3 days in Prague. It is also great to go away from the tourist spots ( they are always overcrowded in spring and summer).
