Prague - Our Trip Part 1

in #travel7 years ago

Hi Steemians,

this weekend we are on a little trip through the Czech capital city Prague! Because of that we have to pause writting about music for some days :)
We want to share some experiences about the city and the places we visited with you, maybe we can inspire you for your next freetime.
All pictures were taken by ourselves with the handy-camera.

1. How we got there?

In Germany we have a cool and cheap alternative to traveling by train, it's called Flixbus with which you can get from one city to another city by bus. So from our hometown in Germany to Prague it was a busride of 7h (including police control).

2. Which hotel did we choose?

As we wanted to have a luxery stay in Prague we chose the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa, a fucking 5-star hotel which has everything you need and more! I mean you can even have your breakfast brought to you room ;) which we will have tomorrow morning. Can't wait for it! The hotel is in a beautiful location full of Irish Pubs and nice cafes but not that many tourists, just how we like it! The Hotel itself is a very nice and rich looking location, here some impressions:

Really.. after the busdrive we suddenly had so much comfort, we really were overwhelmed :D

3. Experiences in Prague by now

We startet the day with a long walk over the Charles Bridge which was full of tourists... really... full. of. tourists! Of course also many street artists and here and there some musicians.
This is one of the oldest remaining bridges made of stone in Europe (bulding startet 1357) and it's over 516m long. If you want to visit it, you should get up really early to enjoy the bridge with less tourists :)

After that we walked through the jewish quarter of Prague where you can find some synagogues, the jewish graveyard (which was closed today - Saturday - due to sabbath) and many little shops. It is a very nice place for taking a walk:

For the next thing we had to book in advance and it really was worth it. We took a winebath in Beer and Wine Spa - Lázně Pramen Prague and it was awesome.
No it's not a bathtube full of only wine.
No we are not some rich kids trying to become Cleopatra 2.0.
The water in the bathtube is just enriched by redwine, extracts from the wine leaves, grape seeds and french lavendel flowers.

The bath is great for your skin and you can feel the tingle on your body after the bath when your laying on the haybed beside the bathtube:

For the bath and chilling afterwards you have 1 hour in your own big room, which was prepared only for you and the only sign you get from outside is a bell which rings 10 minutes before your time is up. Pure relaxing. Of course a bottle of red or white wine is included in the price and also fruits are lovely presented:

Btw. if you choose the beerbath you can drink as much beer as you can in the time you have ;)
You can walk there from the middle of Prague within 30 minutes, try it when you're there! The staff is very nice and your questions via mail will be answered within minutes! Very good service.

After that we went to a restaurant near to our hotel called Krčma "U sedmi Švábů" which is complete in the style of the middle ages. As it is not that central it's not that expansive as you might think. We both had a great meal, 2 beers, 2 wines, 2 shots honeywine and a great atmopshere with firedancing women around us (there are shows every Friday and Saturday evening) for only 818 CZK - which is around 32€ for everything!

If you would do the same in Berlin you would pay this for each person :D

Now we are fed up, completely relaxed and also a little drunk... so we decided to check out the irish pups tomorrow evening and chill in the hotel for the rest of the night.
Here you can see a small screenshot where we marked the restaurant and you can also see the spa and the hotel:

We hope you got some stimulus to visit Prague and if you already planned a trip you maybe got some ideas what you could visit :)
Unfortunately that's not our daily lifestyle so we will enjoy every moment here in Prague - so if you have any suggestions for us or any unknown place we will be glad to check it out :)

Have a great day!

Greetings

Have a great day :)

Beautiful! How was the hay bed?!

You get there some towels, so you don't have to lay directly on the hay - in this way it was awesome and really comfortable :)

Sounds like you had a really interesting time. Prague is on my bucket list, so I would love to visit. I prefer the non-touristy places

Yes it is really nice here and so many things to see! You will love it! There are many tourists but also a lot of spots with almost none! :)
