One of my most favourite spots in our beautiful city of jaipur. You have not seen Jaipur if you do not visit this beautiful majestic fort. Amer Fort or Amber Fort is a fort located in Amer, Rajasthan, India. Amer is a town with an area of 4 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi) located 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Located high on a hill, it is the principal tourist attraction in the Jaipur area. It was ruled by Raja Man Singh I . To really enjoy the palace you need to start early.

Most of the visitors come for taking the ride on an elephant to reach the fort. It is a real ROYAL experience.

The first place you see when you enter the court on your right is this beautiful majestic looking gate. This is the main gate of the palace. There are small windows with a passage right above the gate These were used by the royal ladies to witness the happenings below as they were not allowed to appear in public. The gate was painted using vegetable dyes and they say that the same is still retained.
