While exploring the Islamic trail on the Silk Road, Xinjiang, China, the traveler will encounter a place like the ocean. Though this is the largest lake in China, Lake Bosten.

Because the lake is very wide, there are several places developed for tourism. One of them is Bohu. Infrastructure such as parking area has been prepared, because Lake Bosten become a favorite destination of domestic tourists in Xinjiang during the summer.
Entrance fee is only 45 Yuan (Rp 98 thousand) per person. There is a kind of lobby building and area of introduction to the area before tourists enjoy the Bosten Lake area.

"This lake comes from geysers that melt from Mount Tianshan to the Kaidu River, then flows to Lake Bosten, where the climate is tropical continental, the lake is surrounded by mountains, tourists can enjoy the lake and mountain scenery," our guide said.
According to the guide, this lake has been known since the time of the Song Dynasty. In the past, people thought this was the ocean. Hence the Chinese name is Xi Hai which means Sea in the West Region. Bosten is from Mongol languages
The lake is close to the Taklamakan Desert and the dry Gobi Desert. So the existence of water becomes very important.

"Up to now, Lake Bosten is the most important fishing area in Xinjiang and northwest China away from the ocean with a production of 6,000 - 8,000 tons per year," said the guide.
