Follow me to the Rila Lakes

We thought we were about to end up in the hotel we booked a few weeks before... We went just a little bit in the wrong direction and ended up near the lift that would take us to the top of the mountains the next morning. Us being mistaken was actually a good thing. Turns out we could get our tickets the night before and skip waiting in a HUGE 300+ people line for a few hours in the morning.

So here we are waiting in line for the lift istelf to take us up early in the morning.

The view from the lift seat was magnificent and a wee bit scary too!

We were going with my girlfriend's family and a couple of their friends. One of them was just getting ready after he got at the top with the lift. And I thought he looked so much like Vin Diesel with those sunglasses and the ATV behind him... So here he is in all his vindiesel-ish-ness

We took the "easy path" but were still very tired at the end of it so anyway.. here is the first lake:

The water was cold and crystal clear...

Climbing some more 30-40 minutes to get to the higher lakes...

Despite the icon on the rock there was NO WiFi. I checked several times ;)

And another lake (as you can see at some point - about noon people started actually creeping in, I guess they just got their tickets for the lift now and were able to follow us)...
